Moxie Salon's Story of excellence...
Moxie opened in 2021 with Teresa Connolly’s vision of having a chic boutique salon in Leland with a team of independent stylists around her. When Teresa’s family needed to relocate for her husband’s career in Fall 2023, she sought out new owners that would continue her legacy of providing top-notch services to the Leland community and to maintain an environment for growing stylists...
About Us
new beginnings
Jessica Cocker has been a licensed hairstylist for over 23 years, getting her start in the Charlotte area and then relocating to the NC coast in 2014. Her passion is in offering dynamic color services, hair extensions, and bridal and formal styles. She is devoted to continuing education, having traveled to NYC for the Redken Exchange in 2021 to work alongside the industry’s leading colorists. Jessica leads by serving and is an example to all of her coworkers. She loves to teach and often has an apprentice by her side. Jessica longed for a salon of her own, and when the Moxie opportunity came up, she contacted friend and employer, Katie Guthrie to team up.
Katie Guthrie has been a salon and spa owner for over a decade, having operated
Island Retreat Spa and Salon on Bald Head Island, NC since early 2016. Katie is driven to mentor her team on growth, southern hospitality, customer service, and through supportive retail programs. Her love for a clean modern interior drives the design of the newly revamped space. Together, Katie and Jess are working diligently to build the salon “home” for the best stylists in the Leland community, and their guests.

Moxie Salon and Skin Care
Our esthetic services utilize holistic medical-grade skincare in a range of treatments designed to target everything from acne to aging. Offering waxing, lash and brow tinting, brow lamination, lash lifts, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion and the Osmosis MD facial infusion with Revitapen.
We also take a skincare-based approach to scalp health and offer scalp treatments with our
Head Spa to encourage new hair growth, offer relief from irritation, and to provide a shiny, healthy head of hair.
